Glamorous German Engraved 27-2 with Seven Inch Barrel

Just gorgeous! Ruined another keyboard (drool). Engraving looks like a match to the design used on Murad Pointer grips. LOL.

Adios,

Richard, another fantastic German engraved Masterpiece! The floral motif is indeed seldom seen on handguns and really is attractive - now to find a Model 29 with this style engraving!

Wow!
Another beautiful piece, Richard. I think you could do an amazing "coffee table" book, with the guns in your collection.
Color me green.

Any guess on what an engraving job like on the 27 would cost, if you could find an artist to do it. Is that a rude question?

Mike:

Not a rude question at all. Just hard to guess. The difficult part would be finding someone talented enough to do the work. Those skilled craftsmen/women are becoming more and more scarce. My guess is that the few engravers that I am aware of who could come close to this level of work would charge somewhere in the $7K to $20K range to do the work, and that is if you could get on their calendar. I have found that it is more expensive to commission something than it is to find something that is completed and purchase it. That said, working with an engraver as they incorporate your vision into the engraving is a very fun experience. Something less ornate and technical could be commissioned for less - probably starting at $2K - $3K and up...

I just realized that one of the things that I forgot to point out as uniquely special on this gun is the treatment of the screw heads on the side plate. The rear screw in front of the grips is fairly obvious in its floral treatment. But the amazing screw head is the front one, which seamlessly blends with the floral pattern - almost hiding it in the sea of floral blossoms. A VERY cool treatment. :)

I don’t know how I missed this thread.
That revolver is stunning! The details are exceptional, it could take hours of just holding it to discover them all.
The side plate screws are amazing, as is the front of the frame and yoke.
Thanks for detail pictures.

So good, it makes me misty-wow!
Love the registered mag too, and I got a kick out of the spelling on the extra rear sight blade envelope stating ”Don’t loose”…good sentiment and cursive from days gone by…thanks so much for always sharing all of these fantastic revolvers!
