Never owned and shot a Glock and only one other 9mm, and that was a P38. They changed the profile on the end of the firing pin on the gen 5's and maybe that's it. They just look odd to me. Everything works fine and the gun is accurate. Do 9mm's just do this. It did it on PPU and Independence ammo. They look the same. I'm not worried about it, just curious. I know there's a Glock forum but I trust the opinions of the people on this forum. I aint never been steered wrong yet.:)
Thanks folks,
Peace,
Gordon

The Glock firing pin always left an oblong mark, and for some reason, I seem to recall that the firing pin was changed on the Gen 5, now that you mention it. A call to Glock would likely clear things up. You might offer to email them the pictures.

Glock firing pin strikes are very distinctive. I haven’t seen a pin strike from a Gen 5, but that looks typical for what I’ve seen from many other Glocks of various gens.

It appears that metal flowed up around the firing pin, forming a 'crater'. This is often a sign of excessive loads. But if you were shooting known factory ammo, this is probably not the case. You might call Glock and ask them about it.
Go ahead and post on your Glock forum. They would be better able to say whether this looks normal.

I agree with Andyo5. Definatley looks like cratering and I would contact Speer, also. Get the lot number etc. from the box and I wouldn't shoot any more until you know the ammo is OK.
Factory ammo is USUALLY fine but mistakes do happen.
I suspect hot ammo
