Just asking around to get opinions on this. I can get a Glock 20 for a friend for a great price, but not really wanting it. What i'm wanting is a stainless 686 4inch, and if I get the Glock would anyone be willing to trade and would it be a fair trade. The Glock is hardly used at all and comes with 3 mags and box with it. Thanks for suggestions and opinions.

trade

I'd say that you would owe him some money along with your Glock. There are so many Glocks on the market now a days that even a used ANIB one is only going for $425 no matter what model it is. The Smith should go for around $500.

Just my opinion.

Agreed... I like the 10mm and where your head is at but I cannot think of anyone who would make that trade without wanting more cash from you.

If I could swap *my* 20 straight-up for a 610... now THAT would would be something!! ;)

What Jimmy said.

It'll be easier to get a 686 then to buy a G20 and try to fine someone wanting to trade. Plus you wont have to invest money in a gun you don't want.

Just as food for though, using Buds online prices. They probably sell more Glocks than anyone.

New prices a G20 is $547
new SW 686 is $655

Used, I believe a Glock would depreciate more than a SW. so you do the math.

So unless you can get the Glock for really cheap and sell it for more.;)

Thanks everyone for the opinions, and I was thinking that is what the answers would be. I'm not a Glock fan at all, but to go ahead and reveal I'm able to grab it for $300.00 with the mags and box. I'm really really wanting the 686 for a brother to the 5906 I have. Again Thank You for the opinions, and I guess if I threw in a extra $100 cash I d still be ahead right.

Whatever you do, do not buy any 10mm ammo and try out the glock. The 20 is responsible for a lot of converts over to the 10, and then you'd be wanting a 1911 in like a Kimber 10mm, and that's even a lot more money. And, it will start a new collection eventually.

I'd go buy that Glock today. The next person they show it to is going to buy it. The gun's worth at least $450 with 3 mags.

Well I have gone shooting with him and have shot about 50 rounds through it which wasnt bad at all, still didnt have any interest in it. Getting the Glock would be strictly for the deal and to get rid of it. And he is not in a hurry to get rid of it and hes offering that price because he is my EMT on my truck. But again Thanks.
