I was very pleased with the second generation G22 I owned years ago but had to sell. I'm primarily a revolver guy; but my 22 and G19 were both excellent pistols, though not aesthetically appealing.

Well, I think a Glock is more aesthetically pleasing than say...........a Hi-Point. However, although they are butt ugly and far too heavy/bulky for any sort of CC, they are low priced the 3 I had (9mm, .40 and .45) were pretty good shooters. I still haven't found a .40 cal pistol without a snappy/sharp recoil though.

The .40 S&W is capable of surprising power. It can easily exceed the .45ACP for kinetic energy, in a SMALLER, more compact package!
When loads are pushed, the .45 can shade the .40, but the .40 does "over power" loads better due to it's smaller case head and small primer across the board.
The .40 S&W gives the shooter .45 ACP "power" in a smaller package....of course the .45 GAP comes to mind...and IT can be loaded even hotter than the ACP!
