Have a Glock 23 I would like to sell. Think it is the original, not a gen anything. .40 S&W, 2 10 round mags plus a 13. Crimson Trace. Box, manual, cleaning rod. Paid about $30 for a trigger job. Probably fired less than 200 rounds. Great shape. Thought I would put an ad here on the Forum but don't know what to ask.

$350 seems about right, maybe $375 tops since it comes with a Crimson Trace Grip.

Unfortunately, trigger jobs typically aren't the sort of thing that commands anything extra on a Glock, so you really cannot factor that in.

Personally, I would recommend holding onto it because you're just not going to get much of anything for it right now. Prices are bound to increase a bit once the market ceases to be so flooded, but I wouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon, we're talking 10+ years down the road. So unless you're really hurting for money, I say keep it. Folks are bound to disagree due to personal biased, (Ewww, Glock/Eww .40 S&W) but it will be worth more someday, so it makes more sense not to sell it right now.

Looks like a Gen 3 to me. If it was a Gen 1 (were there any Gen 1 G23s?) it would probably have some collector value. If you're LEO then if you box it and send it to Glock they will replace darn near every part in it that can wear or get weak, no charge. They'll replace the mags too. At least that's what they did for me a couple of years ago on my 3 Gen 2 Glocks. However there's a good chance they'll replace your "upgraded" trigger parts with Glock parts also.
 
oink, think you are correct. Gen 3. Looking online says Gen 4 started in 2010. Think my gun is older than that.
When I bought it was just told it was a Glock 23. No talk about what generation.
I carried a badge for a while many moons ago. Not active LEO.
 
I just recently did the conversion to my G23 (9mm barrel and Glock mag which must be a gen3 due to the feed lips being a bit smaller) however you can get away with your G23 mags as long as they feed ok for you. This way, you have the best of two worlds i.e. shooting 40 or 9 from the same weapon. :)
 
It is a Gen 3. Gen 3 added those finger grooves.

As a dealer, who specializes in pd trade in/used guns, who has sold dozens of used Glock 23s in the last year. I can tell you the market is currently awash in PD-trade in .40 S&W Glocks.

Depending on what was done during the trigger job, it may decrease value. The CT laser adds some value as long as it still lights up

The range given in the above responses is the correct ballpark until the PD trade in market supply of .40 S&W Glocks starts to dry up.
 
You'd be hard pressed to give it away. Most LE dealers are setting on pallets of Glock 40 trade ins. $300 tops and that might take awhile. You're just on the wrong side of the market. Most dealers I work with won't even take them in on trade.
 
For a long time the 40 cal., just like the ,357 before it was considered the best LEO caliber. Everybody, starting with the FBI is racing to the nines for several reasons: Improvement in ammo, ammo is cheaper, easier to shoot for some people, and...an increase in female officers who feel more comfortable shooting the nines. As mentioned above, LEO trade in 40's are everywhere and cheap. I've got two G22's, one marked NOPD and one marked with the department I retired from, and a G27 I've been carrying concealed for over 15 years. I will probably get a G23 because they are cheap and I don't have one. I still own more S&W M&P's than I do Glock. If you want a good used Glock 40, or any of the M&P's, there are several on line companies willing to ship them to your FFL. Make sure your state allows what you want to buy. Right now Glock and S&w M&P are very reasonable.

Same in Vegas. It's the price we pay for being at the butt end of the supply line with no other towns or cities nearby in the state to bring competition.

Used Glock pistols are very popular here for some reason.

Gun shops and pawn shops get $400 all day every day for 9MM and 40SW. $450 for 45 auto and 10MM.

The Lasergrips should add $50.

We don’t see many trade ins around here.
 
For my purposes, the only thing it has going for it is it's .40S&W. Otherwise, it's a plastic kitchen appliance, barely worth the sum of its parts. Take what you have in everything and subtract 10%. GFB's* might give you what you paid for it.

I bought one or the PSA Dagger uppers with barrel during one of the times they go on sale. That and with the Magpul glock mags and it's ready to go as a 9mm. The Magpul mags seem to work just fine. I like the 40 better than 9mm but 9mm is just much cheaper to shoot. The Dagger upper is sold as Glock Gen 3 type but works just fine with my Gen 2 frame.
 
Look it is a little worn but I would think you might get 425 because it has the laser. I'm not in the market for one but if it were mine I would keep it; those are reliable and the .40 is fun to shoot at the range.
 
I’d hang onto it if I were you. I’ve been picking up tons of .40 handguns lately as I can get them for next to nothing. One of which was a San Diego County Sheriff Gen 4 Glock 22 for $259.

I ended up picking up a 9mm barrel for it for ~$40 and now swap back and forth. It’s my one and only Glock but has been perfect my my needs.
 
Not being rude, just honest...it applies to me as well, as I've got one sitting only one room away from where I'm typing.

$300 is tops, only if someone is looking for a laser grip. For me, without the laser, I'd pause a bit before handing over $250 for a gun to leave in the cabin maybe.

What I'd do instead is, keep it and maybe buy a .357sig barrel for it - that's all you need for a gun that shoots a boutique but very high performing round. Use the .40 tube to practice with and carry it with .357sig.

You won't get a fair bit of coin for it, so you might as well enjoy it.

Or make it the gun you store with 1000 rounds of ammo, sealed in dry vapor bags in a watertight container... about six feet underground, somewhere that you'll remember where you buried it again if needed.

Wow, that would b e a steal. For someone needing a carry gun or just a house gun you couldn't go wrong if you can get a good Glock 23 for $250. I don't need another one but I've alsays been pleased with mine. I've had it since right after the Gen 2 Glock 23 came out and never a failure of any kind.

It's at the very least worth $300, and that's only because of the police trade-in market that it's in competition. L.E. got them almost free and then they get sold cheap for an easy profit for them. Other than that, they're selling on Gunbroker and other websites used for as much as $450 depending on the condition and if it comes with all the mags, case, and paperwork.

For clarification, are they actually selling at that money, or is that the Buy It Now number?
