Glock 32, .357 Sig. Why? Well, why not.

Several people I work with are convinced that it is a boutique caliber that is dying. I see it as a niche caliber with a purpose that could one day e very popular.

Like 10mm and .41 Magnum and .40 S&W and lots of other calibers, .357 Sig will ebb and flow in popularity. It's definitely not the "cool kid" right now, but in a few years someone will "rediscover" it.

Well, I took it to the range a couple days ago and concur with everyone who says that .357 Sig is a blast to shoot. I like it. That said, it is snappy enough that the texture on a Gen4 Glock grip becomes too abrasive. Maybe it is my delicate desk job-having hands or something. I might find a thin rubber grip sleeve to soften it. I will have to pick up a few more guns in this caliber.

I think Lawmens may still have some NCSHP P226’s.

I'd really like to get one of those. Missed the boat when Beltway in Matthews had some. Lawmens will not sell to non-LEO. So, that leaves me out. Keeping my eyes open for one of the NCSHP guns with agency markings in decent shape.

I thought military was included
They sell to LE, Fire, EMS, corrections….

I am a fan of the .357 Sig. The NCSHP went to that caliber because of how well it penetrates glass and steel. They set up targets in junk cars and the .357 Sig round had better penetration through windshield glass and doors. Other round either did not penetrate or the bullets went wild after penetration. The .357 Sig penetrated and stayed true to its trajectory.

As for the Glock.

Friends don't let friends buy Glocks.

My wife bought me a Sig p239 in .357 Sig for a retirement gun from the PD 1999. We were carrying p226 9mm at the time - the Dept Armorer liked the .357 round and arranged for her to get that. I added a p239 DAK in 9mm later on.

My SIL had picked up 3 boxes of .357, problem was they wouldn't fit his 686 (.357 Sig, oops). He gave them to me, a few months later I found a deal on a P239 and P229. Was able to find .40 cal barrels for both.
My only .357Sig/.40 S&W guns.

I am a former Army Reservist. Not active or retired. So, don’t think that I can buy at Lawmans. But, can use Glocks blue label with DD 214, as far as I know. Never used it.

I would call if you haven’t already. If you have a DD214 you should be good.
Perhaps Bill (WCCPHD) will jump back in to confirm.

They have a form that you initial asking various questions like those on a 4473.

Then they have a long list of qualifiers to purchase. I believe having served is a qualifier as long as you have some documentation. I can picture the form but not all the details since they didn’t pertain to me.

I am not/was not in LE. I am retired fire, and have bought many guns @Lawmens.

I also bought, at the same time, a P239 in 357 Sig that the Governors detail carried from what I was told, though mine looks unissued. Lawmens only had a handful of those.

Yes, they will sell to military with DD 214. (Our friend Paul has bought quite a few from Lawmens on his DD214 in the past year. He keeps a copy of it on his phone).
