Glock 35 to 9mm via KKM barrel

What do I need to do to convert my 40S&W Glock 35 to 9mm? My guess is a KKM 9mm conversion barrel, Glock 17 magazines, and maybe a different recoil spring. Am I missing something? What recoil spring would you think to use?

Sorry about the Glockyness of this thread, but you are the guys I talk to and I would like to convert this gun to use 9mm as it's much cheaper and easier to come by lately.

I know next to nothing about Glocks, I do know with the M1911 calibers can only be interchanged between cartridges having the same case head diamter, i.e., 9MM and 38 Super, .357 Sig and 40 S&W. It is the position of the ejector on the frame that determines the cartridge that can be used.

I think you're right. I guess I would need a whole new upper half to do 9mm. .357 SIG should work out OK though.

Lonewolf Dist. carrys a 9mm conv. barrel for a G35. I've got a similar 9mm barrel coming to me tomorrow for my .40 G23. Uses same recoil spring in my case. You should use 9mm magazines, though.

9mm rim is smaller.
Extractor will still work, however it IS recommended to change it if you will be shooting a lot of 9mm.

Do a Google search on Lonewolf barrels. Their barrels are well respected in the "Glock community". The breach block itself is the same size as a .40 but uses 9mm diam. bore. An additional feature is standard rifling as opposed to "Glock polygonal".

I used a lonewolf .40 to 9mm conversion barrel in my G27 as well. It worked good for target.. a few snags but not many. I'd recommend it for sure if you wanted it for target.

I didn't change anything, I just dropped it in my G27 and used 9mm mags. The .40 cal mags will work... but not well. I sold it because I didn't own any other 9mms and found myself not wanting to stock another caliber.

I have a 35 and considered doing this myself. Some who have done this report excellent functioning with just the barrel switch and .40 magazines. Some report having to switch the extractor and maybe even the ejector. Others say 9mm magazines are the way to go. If you really want to try this I'd suggest starting with just the barrel swap and proceeding from there as necessary. I know one local USPSA shooter who uses a replacement barrel and he has experienced erosion around the firing pin hole in the slide when using 9mm loads. This is caused by pierced primers, and when a Glock pierces primers it's usually a sign of improper trigger and recoil spring balance. I would definitely stick with stock factory springs for such a conversion and proceed carefully with any aftermarket reduced springs. Also, there may be a significant difference in point of impact with the 9mm barrel, depending on what bullet weight is used.
