Glock discontinues “those” calibers

Hopefully they never stop the huge selling 45 GAP ;)
Modern law enforcement as a whole has moved away from .45 caliber weapons in favor of firearms chambered in .40 S&W and 9×19mm. Despite this change, the .45 GAP has had a following amongst many law enforcement departments. Three state law enforcement agencies have adopted the .45 GAP as a replacement for their current issue 9×19mm Parabellum (New York) or .40 S&W service handguns (South Carolina and Florida). The New York State Police (New York Police have recently completed the transition to .45 ACP for their duty round), South Carolina Highway Patrol, and Florida Highway Patrol have all adopted the Glock 37 and .45 GAP.

In 2003, 45 GAP was a good ideal but my generation, the boomers already had 45 ACP or 357 Magnum then.

I thought the Florida Highway Patrol changed to the Glock 45 (9mm) a few years ago, but I could be wrong. Actually I just looked and it seems both agenices no longer carry the GAP cartridge.

Doesn't bother me a bit. I discontinued Glock 20 years ago when that M31 failed to perform up to my expectations/standards. Bought one. Never felt the need for a 2nd Glock.

Got plenty of .40's and a few .357 SIGS. Won't need more.

I always get a kick out of the people that say .357 SIG velocity isn't necessary and then start talking about 9MM +P or even +P+ to get that extra punch/power.

And, I was around the first time the FBI said the 9MM was the best thing since sliced bread. Things might be different this time around as one thing that has changed is LEOs seem to no longer be afraid to empty their pistol into a perp and then grab another magazine and add a few more rounds to the effort.

I carry a 9MM every day. One with 20 rounds in it.

I think this is what is left of the pistols that survived.
