When the Glock 44 came out a few years ago, it intrigued me. A .22 caliber Glock the same size as a Glock 19 9MM, so it takes all Glock 19 holsters and mag pouches. A .22 caliber pistol that should be up for any abuse you can hand it, wet weather, snow, river crossings, canoeing, etc. I held of for a while as I heard the original offerings had teething problems, would only run with certain ammo, mags were picky about how you loaded them, etc.

Figured I would take a chance on one when I saw one offered at $360 at Rural King. I was not dissapointed. I have run about 500 rounds through it the last few weeks, with zero malfunctions. Even seems to favor Remington Golden Bullet for accuracy, so that tells you something. I have tried CCI Stingers, Remington Golden Bullet, Federal Auto-Match, CCI Standard Velocity, Federal Target, Federal Bulk 550 pack, all shoot well. My casual accuracy test, 50 feet on a steel target, two hand hold, shows CCI Stingers shoot the best group. Easy to get hits on my 3 1/2" steel .22 targets at fifty feet.

I know everyone knows what a Glock looks like, but here's some pics anyway. The orange steel targets (3 1/2" in diameter) shot at 50 feet:

This would make a good training pistol for those who already own Glocks, and if you own a Glock 19 you can use the same holster. Also a good choice for outdoorsmen who need a .22 pistol they don't mind roughing it a bit. Leave that Smith & Wesson K22 at home...

This pistol is so easy to shoot and get good results that when I let my 64 year old Grandma Sister (who is recovering from a stroke, cannot stand for long, has weakness on the right side of her body), it wasn't long before she was getting hits on small steel at 30 feet.

Great price on a solid .22 semi auto. Our local indoor range was selling about a half dozen rental handguns that had been refurbished by the respective manufacturers.

I bought the Glock 44, at a very good price, with the box, all accessories and two magazines. While it is not as accurate as my Mod. 41 or as slick as my Colt Huntsman, it is a very solid .22 capable of very good accuracy. Several hundred rounds and no issues.

It is a great handgun to use as a trainer for new shooters and keeps us older shooters in good form. Now to find a Rural King near me.

I had an Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit for a Glock 26 that flat didn’t work on any 26/27/33 that my son and I owned. I liked the concept and later bought a AA kit for the Glock 29/30. It worked so well I bought a frame and built a dedicated pistol. Over the summer I purchased an AA kit for the Glock 17/22/31 models and purchased a frame for it. These two work just fine. I am tempted to buy a Glock 44 for my grandchildren.

Did yours come with a rear FS or AS?

The Rural King listing shows the Glock 44 comes with an adjustable rear sight.
