Glock ban moving forward in CA

I have a different proposal: Leave Glock alone, but make possession of "Glock switch" (already illegal) punishable by SERIOUS penalties. Then enforce that law. However, Calif. and Dems would rather impinge on 2A than actually reduce crime or save lives.

Look like you guys don’t really know how full auto firearms work. “Tweaking” or filing down the sear won’t do it.
I'd say most of the guys on this forum have forgotten more that you'll ever learn.
You've been here since 2012 with only 30+ posts, your expertise just kick in? lol

The irony is spraying with auto fire isn’t as effective as actually aiming and firing.
True, however if you’ve watched any “action” movie in the last couple decades the majority of firearms (and ALL AR’s) are full auto. The kewl kids gotta have ona does bro…. And the morons sitting in the state houses seem to think the movies are true as well. I’m old, but accuracy with the first shot beats spraying every single time..

That said, when I was a teenager almost 6cdecades ago us boys would go to the dump at night with .22’s with flashlights taped on to shoot rats. Buddy had an ancient Springfield .22 that was worn out. Every few shots it’d decide to go full auto and empty the tube magazine. It was pretty inaccurate when it worked right, when it went auto it might have grouped in a door at 10 yards😏

Thanks, Robert. This and the last few days' activities in LA have permanently extinguished any thought I ever had of moving even to NorCal. Seeing how far the conversation has deteriorated I wanted to get that in before the mods lock the thread.

Aww, that’s cute. You judge my knowledge of Title 2 firearms based on my participation on a primarily revolver forum?

If you think I’m wrong about anything that I’ve posted, quote me, tell me what’s wrong, and we can have a discussion. Otherwise, you’re contributing nothing. . .

Or are you one of those that believes that you can create a full auto weapon by “filing the sear”? 🤣

Back in the day, several European countries flirted with the idea of full auto handguns for special purposes. Apparently Glock wanted to get in on it, their 33 round mag was part of that. Beretta actually produced their version-complete with folding fore end grip. Reality intruded at some point and most disappeared.

One wonders what the phrase "easily converted" might be construed as meaning?
" easily converted" will be used to ban as many firearms as possible. It's California.

The bump stock in Las Vegas I assume was the same situation. As long as he had to shoot, if he would have aimed the casualties would have been worse. Funny, when I was a kid my brother and I took our .357 mags ( that’s right, probably 15 and I haven’t shot anyone or myself) with home made shot shells and flashlights to the barn to shoot rats.

No place in Calif is any different unless it is in the central valley or mountains. Northern Calif is the same Buffoons only they're middle age or older and a lot better off. Local newspaper is 100% against anything that makes sense. Most readers absolutely hate the paper. There are about 36,000 illegals in Sonoma county. Most getting massive support for every aspect of their lives. There are two sets of laws, one for people who have something to take and another for the illegals. When they have a drunk check at night, there will be 1 drunk and 30 people with no license or insurance. At night there are platoons of homeless and illegals out stealing anything not tied down. These people will steal a catalytic converter off your car IN YOUR DRIVEWAY. They will strip the copper wire out of any place that isn't being observed. Newsom and his elite pals have been importing crime and poverty for 15 years. The state is bankrupt. They have spent over $100B on a hi-speed rail project that since 2015 has yet to lay a foot of track. Gas is $5 a gallon, average cheap homes cost $600K +. No, there isn't some magic group of sane people in NoCAL, its just people who are old and keep themselves blissfully ignorant to the dumpster fire we now call Calif. Hippies who got old...I ask: Do you think that what is happening is OK? They have no answer except "What problem?"

California is absolutely gorgeous. Get out into the mountains.. Drive up 395 from Mojave to Tahoe through Lone Pine and Bishop… Mono Lake.
Go to Borrego Springs or Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Lake Isabella..,Sequoias…, take your old pinned and recessed Smith & Wesson and shoot out in the desert.
That’s what California is about.
Don’t worry about the politics. Politics are for the city.. the cities are where the people are.
More people means more rules.
Get out into the sticks and into the desert and no one cares what you’re doing.
Those are the places to go.
I do not care for cities or plastic guns anyway.

The banners always excuse their minions from such restrictions.
Too bad Glock is a manufacturing company, unable to turn down a profit; not a gun company like Barrett which will not sell a .50 to a California government agent because they are banned for residents.

AB1127 would, if passed in its current form, BAN the sale of Glock pistols in the formerly great state of California. The bill, which does not mention Glock by name, would declare that any semi-automatic pistol designed like a Glock and that can be easily converted to fire fully automatically would not longer be legal for sale in CA.
I wonder what the bad guys will be stealing if they can't find a Glock.

When will the anti-gunners figure out it ain't the gun, it's the fool holding it they need to address. Oh, what am I thinking? It's California.

Hope this fits in this thread. Are 'arm braces' now legal? They were then they weren't then they were then they weren't. Trying to use Google for info is confusing. Asking for a friend...
They never were illegal, just some mumbo jumbo about a certain alphabet agency wanting to make their own law about them and turning ~30 million citizens into felons over night, but they got shot down by the SCOTUS and was hoping for a different outcome back in November- Still very legal, a very few applied for the tax stamp waiver and registered theirs as SBR's though.
Unfortunately, it was enough to spook some builders to only offer SBR's now and eliminate their braced pistol line.

The "Glock switches" are already banned and illegal. How is another ban going to stop criminals from committing more crimes?
