Seems like I read that the Glock trigger system was a derivative from a HK design in the 1970's or similar.....Anyone else know of this?

memory isn't always up to the crystal clarity it once had...

Maybe but what about Steyr and/or HK?

I think they were all competitors around that time and location?

I believe that it owes more to the pre-WWI Roth-Steyr. When the action is cycled, the striker is pre-cocked. Squeezing the trigger further retracts the striker, then releases it to strike the primer.
