Glock Reloads

Hi:
Anyone reload for a Glock ?

Is that some kind of gun?;)

Yes, what caliber?????????????????????????????????

I feed them the same as any other gun only I don't use lead in them. Yes yes I know there are those that do and have not problem blah, blah. I don't use lead in my HK either.

And I do not even care much for Glocks, yes they are the greatest most wonderful pistol. Strike that, TOOL ever made.

I reload and shoot lead in my Glock 30 (.45) with no more/less leading than any other make. I know Glock says no reloads/no lead, but so does S&W, Sig, and most other makes.

I've loaded for the Glock 19 9mm and the Glock 23 .40 S&W. Jacketed bullets only.

Yep, for G22 and G27 (.40). I started back in the '90's when I was ignorant about the "no lead" issue. Using the stock barrels, I fired thousands of cast bullets with no issue whatsoever.

I did only use starting loads, sufficient to get reliable functioning. I preferred to let the factory provide the high end loads, but I have found scant need for firing much of that regardless.

Later on I picked up Storm Lake barrels for both models as much for their slightly (perceived) better case support as for their suitability with cast bullets. Still never any issues, so I guess it's all good.

I load for a passel of Glocks, 9 m/m, .40 S&W, .45 GAP and .45 ACP.. couldn't afford to shoot otherwise! How may I help you?

In this current era of "Hard To Find" ammo I am considering reloading for a Glock Model 21 .45acp. Jacketed bullets are difficult to locate. I was wondering if anyone was using cast bullets for Glocks.

I reload 9mm & 40 for Glocks both using jacketed, plated or lead bullets and have had no problems with any of my reloads....I do use after market barrels with standard rifling. Not sure if that answers your question?

I load for Glocks in 9mm, 10mm, and .45ACP. I use lead, plated, and jacketed bullets in stock barrels. Never had a problem with leading, in fact, I find that the polygonal rifling cleans easier than standard cut rifling.
In my experience, Glocks don't like SWC style bullets. Some guys I have talked to use them without problems, but mine do not like to feed them. I try to avoid any bullet design with a shoulder, usually use a truncated cone style.

I've shot a fair number of lead boolits from a Glock 36 in .45acp, less from a Glock 38 in .45 GAP. Never more than 50 or so without at leas a cursory cleaning.. not really sure about the warning not to use lead but I am cautious in my advanced age!

My shootin buddy has a 'no lead' policy for his glocks; I shoot lead in my 21 with a Lone Wolfe Barrel in it. The cost difference, jacketed vs. lead, has paid for the barrel a long time ago. There has been quite a few posts on glocktalk on the Glock 21 and lead issue.

I shoot cast in every target handgun I own.

None of my Glock's are target pistols, I load only jacketed for mine.

Jimmy,

If you shoot you Glock a lot, it is probably worth it to buy a after market barrel which will fully support the brass and have traditional rifling. Then you can shoot lead all day and not worry.

As I mentioned others say they shoot lead and have no problems but I figure the company says so for a reason. Yes all companies say not to shoot reloads but only a few say not to shoot reloads AND lead.

You should wear a seat belt, you shouldn't defeat safety features on lawn mowers but it is still sort of the USA so do what you wish.

I use moly coated bullets almost exclusively in Glock 9s and 45s. I haven't had any issues with leading of factory barrels, but proceed with caution-your results may vary.

I don't shoot lead in my G37 .45 GAP or my G23 .40 cal. I do use LEE carbide dies to ensure I get the case fully re-sized. If I didn't reload for all the guns I own I couldn't shoot!
