I am also a member of Glocktalk.com and I have noticed since about 11ish yesterday the sights gone. Is this just me or is it really down. Thanks guys I hope this is ok for me to post.

I can't get there. Must be down.

Thank you hand for checking I read a few threads yesterday the sight had been hacked. I hope the admin gets everthing back up and going. You two are easily the best gunsites on the net. Dont wanna lose either one

But what is there to talk about Glocks??

Which wine goes best with a tenifer finish, red or white?

Which model is best preferred by the mall ninja on the go?

What else can you decorate a Glock with now that they have bayonets, lights, cheesy emblems in the grips, signatures, etc?

:D Mine is black with a polymer frame what is your's like.?

I think you would have to go with a dry White wine as I do not know of many Red Austrian wines.

I guess there is "generations" to discuss and how the little ones were raised from pups.

Must have been using swaged lead. :p

I been telling the reloading guys to stop with the lead cast bullets in the glock barrel but no one listens

I just spit coke all over my screen reading this now that I am composed enough to type that has to be the funniest thing I ever seen.

Yes I thinking about hawking my G17 Gen4 It was my first gun purchase thought or it would have already happened. I much prefer another revolver or 1911.... A special a Smith and Wesson E-Series 1911

yeah .. that jacketed bullet only thing was the first turn off for me with them.
yeah I suppose you can get an after market barrel and party on, but why bother when something else can do it right out of the box without becoming a project.
I have other arguments as well, but those are in varying shades of subjective ...

Instead of making this a Glock-Bash, let's stick to data on the hacking.

We do know that there is a potent attack being made on v-bulletin boards. We are aware of how they got into those boards and are not vulnerable in that area at present, but the hacker MAY have other avenues of attack, so we could use anything you hear.

Does anyone see other boards down that use v-bulletin?

Any data you have might be useful to us.

Yesterday most avatar/signatures showed to be the same from some hacker(s), "CONTRA".

Within a matter of a few hours the whole site was down completely.

That's all I know apart from the fact that I had a classified ad open.

Lee, thank you for responding about a "rival" forum. I think very few of us realize how much time, effort, and energy it takes for you guys to provide us a place to play.

What i dont get is the why part of hacking multiple forums. Its not like theres money in it. there really isnt a need to illustrate a gaping security hole to a software provider refuses to admit to as is often done with MS products.

I applogize to Lee I never thought of them two as being rival forums. I figured they where just kinda all one huge community thing. Just this was where the Smith and Wesson guys hang out and Glock Talk where the Glock guys hang out. I can see where there rivals thought in the grander scheme of things.

No apology is necessary. I am glad you brought it to our attention. Because of your post, I was able to protect our forum from the hack. Well done.

very cool I am happy I was able to contribute something to the sight. I am still really green to Smith and Wesson even thought I have found them becoming my favorite manufacture.

You have to think like the hacker.
He's after glory/reputation/body count.

Making an analogy between hacking and shooting, what you said is like saying once you hit a bullseye, there is no need to ever shoot again. ;)

I'm on both forums, as well as Tennessee Gun Owners (The Highlander on all of them) and I don't really see them as competing so much. I go to both, for info on each manufacturer. I have never gotten into the Glock or other brand bashing. I pretty much like all guns! That said, I noticed Eric has said the database there has been repaired and GT should be back up before long.

The Highlander

You can customize the slide with sandpaper.
..or poke little dimples in the frame with a soldering iron...

and if you talk about it long enough, you can convince yourself that "consistant trigger pull" is great even if it's a crappy one.. :D
