We have not had an old LEO item thread for some time so here goes.
A S&W M&P .38 special shipped in 1929 , a Clark Co. Nevada deputy sheriff badge, Iron claw come a long, a S.D .Myers holster and a box on 1930's .38 special 158 grain round nose bullets.

The "Iron Claw" was to subdue an unruly arrestee. When applied around the wrist by turning the handle put more pressure on the wrist. At times a broken wrist was the result.

The reason we had them taken away was the torque placed on the wrist , broken wrists happened.

The iron claw was one of the best LE tools ever invented. It wasn't always applied to the wrist and I bet they broke more jaws than wrists!

Nice grouping!

Leverage is a marvelous convincer. Here are a couple of other examples that I've used in my past.

The bull nose ring is what coined the phrase to "Take the bull by the nose".
and the Tooth Key, although archaic, is a very effective "tooth elevator".

Likely, there would be no surprises. Nearly two years ago I ran across a partial box of Winchester .38 Special ammunition at an estate sale that, from the lot number and box style, dated from 1936. I fired and chronographed 10 rounds. No duds, and the average MV (which I don't remember exactly, but was around 800 ft/sec) was about where it should have been, based on old published .38 Special velocity numbers. Earlier, I did the same thing with a pre-WWII partial box of Remington .38 Special, with essentially the same results. Just like the old country truck driver song, "8 Days on the Road," just 'cause she's old don't mean that she's slow.

By the way - the Peters box shown would date from the 1950s. Pre-1950s (1933-1950) Peters boxes looked much the same, but had a little Peters symbol (P in a circle) in the lower right front corner of label. The box graphics style changed completely in the early 1960s, the same period during which the headstamp changed from PETERS to R-P.
