Going out of service soon after 40+ years......on Christmas day, I received this PC1911 and a handmade wooden case from my family members.
Needless to say, I had no idea I would ever own a Smith and Wesson produced by the Performance Center. Hope it shoots as good as it looks!

islamoradamark......Initial impressions are very good. Fit and finish is excellent. Slide to frame fit is very tight....no play at all really, and very smooth. Briley bushing, barrel lug, etc are properly done. Trigger is also properly fit and tensioned, single action is a very crisp 4lbs.....no creep. Two very high quality magazines and a bushing wrench included.
The only thing I don't like appearance wise is the "caution- cofwmr" message etched into the frame.
I don't have to do anything but shoot it! I'm going to try to shoot it over the weekend so I'll let you know how that goes.

By "Out of service" I take it you mean retiring? If so, congratulations! I am certain there are some retired officers on here that can give you good advice on how to stay mentally and physically active. You probably know the stats better than I do...

Nice gun, by the way! Enjoy it for many years!
