Going to New York this June-need ideas

Good luck.

My wife went to NY with her family many years ago. When she got back, she told me I was not allowed to go there. She said I would not play well with those people that live there.

To this day, I wonder what she was talking about. :)

When you're standing outside Good Morning America hold up a "Hi Smith & Wesson Forum" sign to the camera, guaranteed not to get you an interview. Deblasio may even send NYC's finest for you.
Steve W

He'll have the SWAT TEAM down on him in 15 seconds for carrying an "ASSAULT SIGN"!

Sounds like a WIN/WIN for the forum to me!

PLENTY of free publicity, and no cajun for a few months.
Just sayin........:D:D:D :p:p

Seriously, caj, a few tips-

Don't buy a Rolex off the street.
Don't relieve yourself off the porch like you do at home. (the hotel calls em balconies)
Stay sober so your wife can't leave you at the hotel with no clothes an no money an beat you home an get to the bank accounts. ;)

Oh great, Lee....
Three things that a Louisiana man can't NOT do.

Caj, it's pronounced Lon Guylan

I hate all big cities and really feel for ya. Traffic from the city both to and from Long Island is the worst in the world. It can be one huge parking lot if you head in or out at the wrong time of day. Of course any time can be the wrong time of day. Looks like you're doomed though, make the best of it.

I refuse to spend a cent in New York. The gun laws are enough to keep me and my money away.

I would refuse to go. My wife can decide what she wants to do and I decide what I will or will not do. I started my marriage that way and we will celebrate our 40 year anniversary in March. I do not believe that a wife should be given the right to make decisions that makes the husband do things that he does not want to do.

I have told her for years that if she wants me to do something, ask.

We'll this is encouraging :(
I mentioned the Carnegie deli to my wife and she pulled it up on the computer. I don't care how good it is I ain't paying $26.97 for a sammich!!!!! wife says girls want to go to time squaring asked why???
Don't get me wrong I think a three day trip to see the sights would be fun but not this way!
Maybe I can convince her that a trip on the Lon guyland railroad out to montauk and back would be fun

I'd suggest putting a pebble in one of your shoes. This will cause you to walk with a limp, requiring a cane. After a few months, you'll be able to tell your wife that you'd love to go, but can't walk. Give her the keys to the car and wish her an enjoyable trip into the city.

My daughter moved there a year ago.Within 3 months, she was complaining about the tourists :-O The place is seductive CAJ,be careful :-D

Don't drive.

Ride public transportation to an Irish bar.

Tell the girls to come pick you up from the bar when they're done with their nonsense.

The recommendation for public transportation is right on. Driving is a nightmare. Anywhere on Manhattan can be reached by subway. LIRR can get you in to Manhattan.

You've plenty of time to plan your itinerary, Google is your friend. You could spend years in NYC and not see all there is to see. Pick and choose.

Dude, don't over think it. Just go and enjoy. There is plenty to do in NYC if you time it right. Or only a few small things. It's not dangerous. It's not like there are 3 muggers in ski masks on every corner. Manhattan is cool. It's main problem is traffic. Try not to drive. And if you do be very careful where you park. A parking ticket is around $120. Ask me how I know!

Driving is a nightmare. It took me 2hrs to go from Canal and Centre St (photo of the Chinese building) to the Holland tunnel. ...a half mile drive. .....2 hours

If you do get to Times square go to Johns pizza to eat. Great pizza, clean and reasonable prices. The guys are right, the restaurants are way way pricy.
