I planning on making a trip to tour S&W in Mass. If I go, would there be a way I could purchase from them @ S&W and send to my ffl?

My reasoning about this is to see the product first .... and take a tour as well. :)

What's your thoughts?

Make sure when you are there you visit the The Springfield Armory national historic site it is open 7 days a week. If you have an interst in U.S. martial arms it is a must. M1 garand ser# 00001 and such. Also know only 10% of the collection is on display. FYI

Call the SW museum and check what's going on before you drive out. They were closed for an extended remodel when I was there in July. Don't think you can go to the manufacturing site as a tourist.

Colt isn't a long way from Springfield.

Springfield, MA Trip

Roy Jinks might be able to arrange a factory tour for you. You will have to call him. I was there about 10 years ago and the factory tour was great, inc the custom shop. A lot of NC machines, very modern and very automated. The range and company store is about a mile away from the plant. Don't miss that either. What ever you do allow 2 days to go thru the Springfield Armory. Its a great place if you like guns.

The shooting and sports center in springfield is still closed. The store and range. They got rid of range staff, and from what I gathered from one of said "laid off" staff members, they may not even re open the range. If they do, it will be for private club use and possibly Leo training. There were also "issues" with out of state gun sales at the gun store, so that may or may not be opening back up.

The whole " closed for renovations" excuse was just a cover for the big mess they have on their hands over there.
