Several months ago I was watching the Discovery Channel. One of the regular car show guys was on location. He was in beautiful red rock country. This location was a resort location with golf course, resort, giftshop and the whole works. Also off road car -motorcycle trails and a car museum. All owned by his boss John Henricks, Discovery Channel owner who he interviewed.
My brain was spinning trying to figure out exactly where it was located. We got red rock all over out west. I was thinking maybe Arizona? Utah? We got red rock here in NM but I figured I would have heard about if it was here. They finally said they were in the beautiful Western Colorado red rock country. Then they said they were in Gateway, CO. Where? I used to live in CO. I have been just about everywhere in CO. Never heard of Gateway. When I looked it up I see that it's South of Grand Junction. And when I went there I found it's not easy to from NM. But worth it.
It is an absolutely beautiful place sitting out in the middle of nowhere. The car musceum is spectectular! All American cars and a few motorcycles. And almost nobody there. Several folks have asked me if I stayed there. No I did not. The rooms start at $600 a night. It looks like Scottsdale that took a wrong turn in Flagstaff. There was an entry fee posted but me and the other three folks I saw there got in for free. It's just hard to explain this place. Maybe some pics will help.
