Gold Bead Front Sight for a Mod 22

I don't really care for the half moon sight of the Mod 22, like the rest of the gun, just not the front sight.

I am not crazy about it's looks or the sight picture. Is it possible to replace the front sight (it is pinned) with a gold bead front sight? Will there be any problems, sight picture, installation, etc..) with this change? I know a gunsmith could cut the front sight at an angle and maybe install a bead, but I thought it would be less expensive to just swap out the sight if it is possible.

Has anyone tried this "conversion"?

SDM fabrication makes a direct replacement. When the M-22 first came out, a lot of the people on this board bought them.
