Are these bullets all created equal? I'm pretty sure the Deep Curl is identical to the Gold Dot. Is the Hot-Cor manufactured the same way? And by that I mean the core to jacket bonding technology. Most of the rifle bullets are called Hot-Cor but then their 62 gr. bullet for the .223 is called a Gold Dot. And I have not seen the .223 bullet for sale as a component. Is this just Speer's marketing ploy is there a difference among them?

David,
I'm not sure about the Hot-Cor so I won't say but like you said the Deep Curl and Gold Dot bullets are identical and it says so on the Speer site.

Hot-cor is not a bonded bullet. They take an empty jacket and pour in melted lead, thus, a hot core and the name.

You can sometimes find the gold dot 223 bullets sold as a "pulled" componet. Just can't recall what site that was that sold them.....
