This is exactly what I have been telling friends and family this week. The 2nd Amendment is as much about protection against government tyranny as it is about protection from bad people. In my opinion the very act (by the government) of trying to ban certain guns is the start of tyranny.

I am convinced that many in the government (the gun grabbers) know that gun control won't stop shootings like in Connecticut. What they know is that gun owners are not the type of people that mold very well to liberal ideas and control. These people know that before they can control us they need to take away our guns.
