Got an opportunity to purchase an MP9 with Trijicon sights, with everything in the case (minus the Large backstage- which is no deal breaker as I have smaller hands). Guy takes very good care of his guns and prob only put about 100-200 rounds through it. He has decided to get the CORE and try his luck at competition shooting as he loved the feel of the MP9.
He is wanting $475 for the gun. Should I jump or run? I already have a 9mm so I won't be going into different ammo purchases.
Any and all info is appreciated.

Note: I have an XDs. 45 that I CC, so not sure if this could take its place, but would definitely get some time- if it shoots as he says.

Not toooo bad a deal since you can actually shoot it before you buy it. See how the accuracy is and if the Trijicon's glow well in the dark. M&P9F at my LGS are $459 w/2 mags & grips in the blue box. Knock him down to $450 on general principals.

Deals like this never come my way.

Is it a full size model?

Do I like the gun?

Do I want Trijicon sights on my gun?

If the answers to the above questions were to my liking, I would buy the gun without haggling over the price.

Yes, pretty normal price. Bud's Guns has new M&p9 17 rd 2 mags no night sights for $470. If you want night sights, it's a fair price.

Midway has 17rd magazines for $33.99 right now. Better order a couple to go with your new pistol!

I'd say good deal.

The Trijicon HD sights are about $150, plus installation:

I would personally be more concerned about knowing when the gun was produced than what sights are included. If the fired shell casing is included, you will have a 'born on' date. The full size 9s had seen some significant engineering changes recently that are intended to fix the many, many reported accuracy problems associated with the earlier production 9mm full size guns (do some research here), as well as a trigger feel upgrade that rolled out starting with the Shield release and is now found in the newest production 9s. IMHO, you are not being offered a deep enough discount to offset passing on getting a current production gun with the newer, more accurate barrel and improved trigger feel.

M&P 9mm with Night Sights at Bud's Police Supply for $455 - Figure $480 when said and done. I'd say pass, or negotiate the price down... maybe $400.

It's an ok deal. For a few $$ more you can get a brand new M&P 9 Range & Carry Kit. Brownell's sells the large backstrap for around $3.00 if you need it.

I'd have to agree. I got my range carry kit for right at $500 OTD. Mine came with 3 (17 round) mags a 2 mag holster, a Serpa Blackhawk level 2 retention holster and a speed loader.

Valid points well made.

OP, if you know the S/N, it's possible to make an educated guess as to production month.

Nothing special, you can find a better deal through gunsamerica.com

What if the OP doesn't qualify to purchase from BPS. Just because some buyers can get for this price that doesn't mean all sales should be based on it. Trijicon sights aren't cheap and IMHO make this a good deal.

OP has a USN Avatar which indicates he served in the US Navy, which qualifies him for Bud's pricing. That is why I referenced and recommended it.

Notice most of the replies also indicate it's an OK deal at best. The OP can do better for sure, whether going though Bud's or not.

I did not know Bud's had special pricing. How you get it?
