I have the opportunity to pick up a K-22 Model 18 with box in excellent condition. It has a slight cylinder ring (short marks from the lock up slots) and a bent rear sight (replaceable) for right at five hundred. What is the going rate for these? The bluing is 99% from what I know, and the crown looks perfect. This is probably a low round gun, not fired much. I'd like to get this as it is a match for my .38 Model 15.

Not a bad price and the rear sight blade is ann easy replacement - but why is it bent? If the gun was dropped, be sure to check the yoke / crane alignment, extractor rod and see if the cylinder spins freely when the hammer is pulled back to allow the cylinder stop to go below the frame.

I recently sold a Model 18-4 in near perfect condition without the box for $575.

The bent sight would concern me. How did it get bent? I bought a revolver once that turned out to have been dropped on concrete. There was damage not readily visible.

I would certainly buy at that price.. How bad is it bent? I bought a 66 recently that the rear sight was bent (or crooked), I stoped by my gunsmith on the way to the range and he took it off, bent it back straight and sent me on my way for $10.. After he was done I felt kind of stupid for not doing it myself

I checked out the lock up and the crane seems fine. I think it has been shot since dropped but I will check it out further and ask more question. Thanks for all the advice. Everyone's great on this forum.
