Hey guys is the M&p 10 a good first 308 rifle?I plan on using it for boar hunting in the future and target shooting so is this a good gun? I really like the design and the features seem to make the gun beginner friendly.i'm half asleep at 4am so Please excuse my grammar.

My M&P10 was my second .308 and i am very satisfied. Its very accurate with good ammo and is a blast to shoot. My first was a M1A and it was a challenge to get to shoot well but it shoots anything. The M&P was good to go out of the box.

Some here have reported issues but mine has been trouble free. I have been well pleased with my MP10. It is a good handling .308 AR. I have had a Saiga.308, DPMS Gen 1 .308 AR and a M1A Scout, and so far I prefer the MP10 to any of those, although I did like the M1A Scout a great deal.

Mine has been fine as well but as Tbat mentioned, some have had issues. I wouldn't get rid of mine but you might want to read through the threads here before you make a decision one way or another. Just so you are an informed buyer. Like I said, so far mine has been a great rifle.

I'm in the same club of having no problems with several hundred rounds fired.

As for hog hunting, it depends. If you are going to be in a stand or vehicle, it will get it done just fine. If you are going to be walking/stalking, something lighter will serve you well.

An AR15 in 6.8 or 300BLK would be another strong suggestion.
