I'm in northern WV, sandwiched between eastern OH & western PA. I'm looking to find someone who is good with S&W revolvers.

I'm driving distance to Pittsburgh PA, Columbus OH, Wheeling / Fairmont West Virginia.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thx a million eglide, I just checked out the website and thats exactly what I was looking for, and closer than Pitts. or Columbus. I used to play music in some old bars out Cadiz direction.
I mostly just need occasional minor adjustments or trigger jobs, etc..... mostly for S&W revolvers. I'll give him a call and get out that way soon. Thanks again.

Interesting link, do they have a store with normal business hours or are they by appointment only?

I spend a lot of time in the northern panhandle and like to look for places to visit, if I can get permission.

Hey Jelly, I checked the website and it gives their hours and phone number. I think it was 10am - 7pm M-Fri.

Where do you come to in the panhandle? I'm between Wheeling and Wellsburg area.

Gunsmith

Guitar,
SSK in Wintersville, OH has done work for me on Rugers and I was satisfied with their workmanship and price. JD Jones is the proprietor.

Hi Guitar, I looked all over that site for business hours. I guess I couldn't see the forest for the trees.

We usually cross the Ohio River at Chester then drive down Rt. 2 past Moundsville to our favorite haunt, Fish Creek Rd. We take FCR to Rt. 250 then go back to Moundsville. We've probably been down there 5 or 6 times since Feb 1.

We used to go South and work our way to New Martinsville, or drive all over the state, but since we got custody of our grand daughter our trips are a lot shorter.

We've been all over your area and have probably been by your place at least once, my goal was to drive on every road in WVA and I sure gave it a try. We were hoping to move to WVA but with the way things are now, I doubt it will ever happen.

I'd ask you if there are any good music stores in your area, but my son probably wouldn't want to drive that far on our father and son road trips.

Hey Jelly, good to hear from someone in our area. If you click the tab on the website that says "contact info & terms" you will get the phone number and hours, however the hours are wrong on the website. I called him yesterday and he said he now only opens the "retail shop" on Friday from 12 - 5 PM. The other days he is gunsmithing, and now sells online alot. He told me to call and let him know when I'm coming. Seems like a nice guy.

If you come down Rt 2 to Moundsville, you come right by me. I'm a block and a half from Rt. 2 in Beech Bottom, the tiny community between Wellsburg and Wheeling.

I've played music in lots of those Moundsville & New Martinsville clubs & parties. Played for a big party at one of those cabins on Fish Creek. That there is back woods country.

Music stores, yes I know of two good ones near the Wheeling area, and also a great luthier / builder nearby who is good with acoustics. If your son needs a good electric guitar, I have a mint 2003 sunburst Stratocaster with upgrades & tweed case for sale for $480, or trade for an older S&W, 29-2, 37 Airweight, 36-1, etc. Give up one of those S&W's and get your son a wonderful guitar.....hahaha, show him the pic below.

If you decide to move to WV, I can help you with that too. I'm a licensed Realtor for the #1 Real Estate company in the area. I have many homes for sale now that are good deals, one great deal just down the street from me. The homes in my little town are well built and sell for great prices, whereas the towns just a few miles away are maybe 20% higher..... mostly because we don't have major businesses here. But I don't mind, quiet community, great prices....so what if ya have to drive 4 or 5 miles to a gas station or grocery store. Let me know if you want me to email you some homes/pics just for fun.

Maybe when the weather breaks, we can meet up sometime when youre coming through, and show off some guns & guitars.

Hi Guitar, Thanks for the update on the hours.

We used to stop at Beech Bottom just about every trip through with the grand daughter. We'd let her play at the park to burn off some of the extra energy after sitting in the car for hours. We're waiting for the weather to break so she can try out the new equipment they put up.

I'll let my son know about the Stratocaster, I don't know a thing about them but I think he's mentioned them before. He used to work in a music store in Boardman Oh. and would buy and sell guitars all the time. Salesmen would come in and give him a chance to buy some limited production stuff at real low prices, and he got one once for free for selling a lot of them, what ever it was. He buys and sells on e-bay all the time so I don't have a clue what he has now. He's got some talent but the bands he plays with won't take him anywhere.

It'd be nice if we could move down there now. But the wife and I both have medical problems, she was off work for a year and when she went back the mill she worked at was idled so she's been on unemployment for a second year. They're talking about going back but it's been delayed once already, we'll see. We also have an empty house that we can't sell that we're taking care of, know anyone that wants to trade? It's in the worst city, in the worst state, and houses aren't selling at all. When they do it's like the one across the street from our new house, it was valued at $90,000 and sold for $20,000.

Let's keep in touch, we don't plan our trips down your way, the wife gets up and decides she wants to go and we go. But we might be able to get together sometime.

Yep, I know the park, it's walking distance, about a half block from where I live. Yes, stay in touch, I'll give you my phone # sometime, maybe we'll get together if the weather ever thaws out.
