Which magazine subscription would you recommend in regards to updated information on new hand guns as well as articles on older ones?

Guns & Ammo and Shooting Times are the classics that cover both of what you're looking for. They can also be subcribed to very inexpensively if you do a bit of internet research. (Example: https://www.valuemags.com/express/valuemags.asp?magid=499&gclid=CLL6t5S1tKACFQUMDQod2Gv1TQ This link delivers G&A to your doorstep for just $1.08 per month) American Handgunner and Guns are very good to but they don't cover very much of the old stuff. The American Rifleman is free with your NRA yearly membership and is very good at covering both old and new.

Having answered your question to the best of my knowledge, I'll now sit back with some popcorn and watch the usual fireworks of those who will tell you that today's writers are terrible and all the old writers are gone and that all the magazines cover are new 1911s and AR-15s. You'll get a smattering of "I know everything now and don't need gun magazines anymore" and "why get a magazine when everything you need is free on the internet."

I still like turning pages, looking at quality photographs, and I haven't figured out how to get the internet in my bathroom (hmmm, an I-Phone could do it).

Good handgun magazine

Cast another vote for American Handgunner-
IMHO Much more of what you buy a handgun magazine for...

I read Guns & Ammo for fun and news. They are weak on the technical side, but are fun to read and informative.

You've never heard of a laptop? :D

My dream bathroom has a TV, a fridge, and a microwave...to go along with the laptop, of course.

Thanks for the input as well as the humorous stuff, I really appreciate it.

mm6mm6,
That pretty much sums it up on this end too.

I let all my subscriptions expire except for American Handgunner. It was the only one worth keeping.

After a couple of years getting Guns and Ammo I gave up on them. Maybe one or two articles a month really caught my interest. I don't hunt, have no interest in assault or antique guns and there you have about 90% of every issue. Now if you subscribe get ready to keep hearing from them for months once you quit. I have received my last issue, my very last issue and my absolutely the last issue all at least twice. My subscription expired back when, oh hell I forget, but it keeps coming and they keep begging me to renew. Kinda nice getting the mag for free but the junk mail solicitations are getting old. (o;

Last night I was poking around on the Handgun's web site, BTW they are an offshoot of Guns and Ammo. In the Accessories category they had not one but TWO articles on the Laserlight Pistol Bayonet. Needless to say, I am NOT impressed by any gun rag who would even consider publishing an article on anything this foolish. However, judging by the amount of coverage that Laserlight received, these 2 rags are fully bought and paid for by whoever buys the most advertizing. Fact is if Trojan purchased enough pages of advertizing, they would probably do a review on their rubbers.

Personally, I lost all faith in US magazines many years ago. They are nothing more that mouthpieces for their advertizers. If I want to read a puff piece, I can get that for free by picking up a manufacturers brochure.

What really ticks me off is the manufacturer's promotionsl magazines plugging their products, selling the rag for about $6.99! CZ was the last I saw, but Colt and others have done this.
