I was hoping to get some recommendations for a good holster that I can use while at the range. I don't plan on concealing my current M&P9 (hoping to eventually get my hands on a Shield for that). I've got the 4.25" Pro Series version (SKU 178035 ). I have never holstered a handgun before so I don't really know what I am looking for yet. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

At some point I think I might add a tactical light to it as this gun is mainly for having some fun at the range and for home protection (any suggestions for that would also be appreciated). So a couple of holsters might be in order. Thanks.

I originally bought the Blackhawk Serpa holster, which I liked, but found that I much preferred the release on the Safariland holster instead.

I like the Serpa for range use. It sticks out too far for me to carry though.

Try PJ Holster.

Try Comp-Tac just as good as Blade Tech but usually just a 2 day wait where Blade Tech can be weeks.

I use the Safariland 6378 ALS holster. It comes with both a belt attachment & a paddle attachment. Safariland is a quality product.
Yeah, that's the one I have. I love it. I liked the Blackhawk Serpa until I tried this one, but found that the Safariland thumb release was by far easier, quicker and more natural to use. The Serpa index finder release just isn't as good IMHO.

My personal favorite is Armordillo Concealment OWB. Its a Raven type holster but a lot less money. Owned 3, never had an issue and surprisingly comfortable.

I stand by Crossbreed Holsters.

I personally have an IWB holster from them for my 4.25" pro series and one I was wrestling with my friend with the holster on but didn't have my gun on me and it bent the material in a little so it didn't fit right anymore. I contacted the company and they told me to ship it their way and they would fix it. Got it back with it perfect again.

I am going to try out their appendix carry for my PM9. Depending on how I like it I might get another for my M&P9c or maybe give the MiniTuck a try.

I bought the Safariland 6378 and it looks like I have a problem. I have been using it for a couple weeks now and it is rubbing the finish off of the top edge of my slide! What should / can I do? I emailed them this morning but have not yet heard back from them. This sucks!
