Good movie...netflix

Hey... scope on a lever has it's reasons.

Mine is a 1.5 EER, I made a scout rifle out of mine and I do believe that's exactly what we saw in the movie, a scout rifle 45-70.

Mine is a JM stamped MARLIN.

Well seeing as you live in California, everything is OK there!:D

Now if you only had a Marlin stamped JM if would be even way better.:D;)

Thanks for a good recommendation. Really enjoyed the movie. The writing and acting were well done. A lot of good lines for the actors. I got cold watching it though
I too thought the guy getting blown away by the 45-70 was a bit hoaky, but I don't know what almost 3000 ft. lbs. would do.
The stats at the end about missing Indian women was shameful news to me.
The fact that the movie is not well known may be due to it's attachment to Harvey Weinstein's company.

Great movie, watched it with the wife last night. I had a 30-30 Marlin from 1957 (I believe) stamped JM, short carbine where the filler rod didn't come to the top of the carbine in excellent condition, what's the story? Worth anything special?

I know how you feel, and felt the same way, but per SIG.P220.45, who worked reservations as an FBI agent, the stats are not true. Check out his post in one of the earlier threads on the movie.
