Hey guys with all of the bad things I keep reading here about the M&P 15-22 I would like to let everyone know I am very happy with mine and have not sent it back to S&W. I got mine early so it has to be very low serial number I have yet to have a failure to eject and get very little failures to feed. I would think I have about 1200 round through it and my 9 year old thinks it is the world greatest. Here are some of the things I do to keep mine running this my or my not have any bearing on the reliability:

1. Cleaned it and lubed it before it was shot
2. Load the magazines one round at a time watching that the round is pointed upward.
3. Cleaning after every use.
4. Keep things wet (well lubricated)

This is my 2 cents.

only have about 800 rounds through mine and only had a few failuers to feed other than that and i do the same things you do, watch how you load it and keep it well lubed and clean. great gun and alot of fun.

4. Keep things wet.

you may want to clarify this statement. to me, wet implies water. i don't want to put words in your mouth, but did you mean well lubricated? there are a lot of new people on the forum looking for info and we don't want anyone dunking their 15-22 in a bucket of water to keep it wet:D

You are right and to be honest I am new also but I do know water is not good for guns.

Thanks

congrads on your rifle, since i got mine back from s&w, its been alot of fun, i havent even cleaned it since i got it back from them, still shooting great.

ive been using the rem oil wipes for my cleaning. use one while i scrub and another when im done to wipe every thing down and leave a nice thin coat of oil on every thing works great.

Ive ran a few thousand rounds through my gun now CCI Agulia and federal since I adjusted the ejector (needle nose pliers) I have had ZERO FTEs one or two FTFs but thats my fault in loadeding the mag
