Good old Larson

In September 2019, The Far Side website stated that "a new online era of the Far Side is coming!". On December 17, 2019, The Far Side Comic Strip by Gary Larson - Official Website | TheFarSide.com, authorized by Larson, and dedicated to The Far Side cartoon series went live on the internet. On July 8, 2020, Larson released a new section of The Far Side website entitled "New Stuff".

I read a story about him & his retire/unretiring. Scott Adams (Dilbert) had the same issues, about having hand issues. Gary found doing his artwork was giving his hand bad issues. Muscle stuff, etc. Then he learned about using the computer/pad to do the artwork, which kinda pulled him out of retirement. Details are "sketchy" but I haven't seen any of the new stuff. I read his Far Side.com site every morning, but they're the older cells. I haven't seen any of his new stuff yet. I haven't looked yet actually. If you grew up with Mad Magazine, you see where Gary got his sense of unique humor. I only have 3 of his Far Side Collections books, but they never get old. I have a whole boatload of Dilbert cartoon collections, which never get old, but he changed his MO to podcast stuff and all the news papers, etc., dropped him. (Enough on that subject.) Larson's brain and artistic talents are what I could only wish to experience! The scientific community have named at least one form of parasite after him and something more recently I can't recall. The world is a better place to live because of him (IMHO!)
(Did you see how I threw in the "sketchy"? Pretty good for 10:30 PM)

I remember posting that at the time and it went ballistic. Apparently he had been skeptical of going digital but he got seduced by the capabilities of a Wacom tablet, and the rest is (modern) history :D

Every time I see a Far Side cartoon here it gets an automatic "like".

As long as we're on the subject, one of my favorites.
