LGS selling the full size, 4.25" barrel, M&P9 M2.0 Performance Center Pro Series, fiber optic sights, no thumb safety, for $510 out the door. Should I jump on this? Or I could also get the standard, non-PC version for $375 out the door.
The price you have for the PC version seems reasonable. My experience recently was with a shield and not the full size. I recently picked up the PC Ported Shield M2.0 .40 Cal with tritium night sights for $545, which I thought was reasonable considering the cost to add the tritium sights myself. As to whether it's worth the higher price tag over the standard version, I cannot say. This is my first semi-auto from S&W, so I can't personally compare. Based on reviews I read, the trigger is better (or at least refined) on the PC. That and the tritium sights are why I chose the PC M2.0. The factory ported barrel and slide weren't a consideration for me. Reviews seem to say the porting noticeably diminishes muzzle rise but not in a big way. To me the ports are a little more cleaning to pay attention to. While it may not be of much help, that was my reasoning when making a similar decision recently.
I don't think that's right. The 4.25" length barrel is the standard full size/duty model, sku # 11521. The Performance Center version of that is sku # 11818.
The 5" barrel is their "long" version of the above full size.
The M2.0 Compacts are 4" or 3.6" barrels, they have versions of both.
