Hi All,
Has anyone tried a dovetail site mount a Red Dot optic like a Halosun 407K X2? I found one on Amazon and am wondering if it will work on my non-optic ready 45 Shield Performance Center M2.0.

Some people report that the dovetail mounts work fine, others say that they walk in the dovetail. My opinion is that your dovetail wasn't designed for the weight of the mount and an optic, so if you like the dot, go ahead and get your slide milled.

In any case, that's the wrong mount for a Holosun K footprint (modified Shield RMSc) optic. DPP and EGW make mounts that are compatible with the Holosun K/Shield RMSc footprint.

I put a crimson trace cts-1550 on my shield plus using a DPP dovetail mount and it has worked well. I also put one on my M&P40 with no problems. Only thing is if you want to co-witness you need to put a higher front sight on.
