I have just started the Gabriel Du Pré series and it is excellent. I think those of you who like modern day westerns, Tony Hillerman and the like, will enjoy it as much as I am. Read about it here:

I read the link. I think the retired dentist/medical examiner in Victoria Houston's mysteries set in WI is part Indian, of that tribe. I'd never heard of them until I read her books.

BTW, Houston hunts birds and fly fishes; has been coached by Joan Wulff.

I interviewed her a few years ago for an article and she mentioned that her shotgun is a Browning B-SS double.

I'll probably look for the Du Pre books. I like good mysteries.
