My daddy always used to say "You've got a Champaigne taste on a beer budget." I guess in a way that must mean that I have good taste. I sure seems like it when I'm bidding on firearms lately. It seems that when I am wincing at my top price and although I may hold top honors for a few days when it comes down to the nut cutting I end up being overbid by at least a grand. Have prices really done that with decent quality firearms? I know that you "Never pay too much for a Colt, you just buy it at the wrong time." But I have been trying to get my hand on a nice 3rd or last model Colt SAA in 44-40 or even .44 Special and they all seem to go well North of 2.5K, which is a ridiculous price for an oversprung, outdated firearm...but none the less there they are.
Same is true for an early nice quality 1911, way over valued for what they are but there they are....
Now as we all know there is no finer firearm then an early pre number Smith and Wesson, bar none with exception to some extremely rare variants of other manufacturers glory years. Our prices are also on the rise and for some models seem to have no end in near sight.
Being what it is I will close for now, somewhat jaded at having to face the music and pay the piper if I want to dance. Peace.
