Goodbye Jaws

OMG

He came up in a conversation I had with my wife a few nights ago.:(

R.I.P. Richard

Unfortunately acromegalics usually don't have a long life span.

Wasn't it Richard Kiel that had the line in "The Longest Yard"....."I'M GOING TO CLOTHESLINE THAT BIG JERK!"

Rest in Peace Richard-gosh dern it ya big Ape. He was also great in Moonraker--and was the only time in any Bond movie--that he ever spoke words. He came to famein an episode of The Twilight Zone.

Oh and, for many years--people would come up to him and say: "I thought you were no longer here?" and he would smile--tell them they were getting him mixed up with Ted Cassidy--the man who played: Lurch on The Addams Family. He had a bit part in a cute movie about two Canadians having a fascination for all things--Beer.

Btw, a week ago--he reunited with Sir Roger Moore and they did some interview on some radio station. I wish I could hear their interview. Sir Roger's reply when he heard of his friends passing (I cant quote) but basically--he was really crushed and pounded by the sad news.

Rest in Peace Richard--you must have been one heck of a great person--I thought you were.

In 1979 I was working at Pacific Stereo in West Covina, CA. Only the double door entrance provided daylight as the windows had all been blocked for security purposes.
I was in the showroom BS'ing with another salesman and all of a sudden the room went almost dark. I looked toward the doors and saw this silhouetted figure ducking as he came through the entrance. It was Richard Kiel ! A very nice guy, soft spoken and friendly and I still remember shaking hands with him felt like he was wearing a baseball glove. He bought a 19" Sony Trinitron for his kid, and I helped him load it into his Cadillac. He told me that he had the dealer move the seat track back almost to where the rear seat was and reinstall it so he could get the seat back far enough to drive. My condolences to his family.
