Goodbye Model 10/Made the trade

OK, I was able to do a little research. My BHP was made in 1982 (not 1962). Now I won't have any qualms about getting it re-finished, not that I would have balked at that. I think this will be a great pistol once I get the proper grips, the right holster and a refinish job.

I don't think S&W will re-blue other brand guns; however, if you want a perfectionist quality re-blue, send it to Ford's in Florida. Probably one of the best refinishing shops in the country. Check out their other finishes, as well. A Hi Power in their Black Nickel finish would be incredible!

The BHP is one of those firearms that just feels great in your hand.Trade and get one of the H.B.10's that Bud's guns has for $269.

I would say it's a great pistol right now. :D

A worn finish actually suits some guns perfectly.

I agree with the folks who say that you can always find another M10. The fact that M10s now sell for about $300 when they used to go for less than $200 has more to do with inflation than anything else, IMHO.

Why not shoot it and see how you like it and how it fits into your "stable" before sending it off for refinishing? Take your time. Who knows, you may decide to carry it (legally of course) in which case the new finish would soon look like the old finish anyways.

Need some advise here.

While we're on the High Power subject; My friend has an immaculate High Power that he purchased new in 1985. It is Belgium made and has the adjustable sights. Just like new and in the box. The bluing is spectacular.

He is going to sell it. How much should I offer him or how much is it worth?

Thanks in advance.
