Recently SWMBO stumbled on to some music videos. (on youtube)

The musician was identified as Bird Youmans.
His music is very good examples of multi-tracking.

Searched for biography - very little information found.
James "Birdlegs" Youman is an American guitarist and bassist. In the early 1970s he played in a band called Kudzu.

Well known recognized innovators of muti-tracking/layering and dry/wet effects processing are Tom Scholz, Roger Waters and Roger Hodgson.

Brilliant audio engineers.

Also another multiracker of note - Les Paul!

Les invented it. It was the crude tool that others grasped the concept and the potential of and built on it.

Today's studio engineers are the NCOs of the recording/live music industry.

I believe that running a desk is an art form in and of itself.
