Goose Chase ?

I picked up a 1903 colt hammerless 32 cal. at a local gun show . removed the grips at home and found A.L.SHEARER USMC scratched on the back of 1.Any idea of how to find information on the name or person ?


Then the second day of the show along came another 1903 32 Cal.With 2 extra magazines . No name on it . I have wanted one of these for many years but could not justify the cost of a nice one .Then along comes 2, the price was right, both are home with me . They are less than 1000 S/N apart ,made in 1920 and in at least 95%condition. I am giving serious thought to having 1 engraved as a present to ME

MickeyD your's is beautiful . Don't know if i will go that far but i want some gold inlay, probably 1/4 coverage engraving.I am a grip maker for 1911's and plan to make a set of IVORIES for it.

I am jealous! I have a .380, a .32 and a .25 but they are just plain blued guns as they were shipped - not nearly as purdy as those engraved ones above. The good part is that I bought them a while back and paid $200 - $225 for each in 95% + condition. Just love those old Colt Pocket Pistols!

but it have been sandblasted before blueing,

Wish i had the stamina to polish it down like yours
