Carried a 4" 29 and later 29-2's as a peace officer for years. Then the PD said no more BIG bore. Then went to a 4" M28...I retired a few years after they began to say we all "needed" auto loaders and 9mm at that! That said, I never had a 629 until the first of last month. Bought a new 4" 629-6 to replace those old 29's that were sold over the years as I really missed a N frame 44 4". Glad I got it too. Not fond of the Hogue grips and will replace them with a RB to SB conversion grips to give me the feel of the old 29's I'm used to. But the good thing is that action on this new model is smooth and needed no tuning from me what so ever. The fit and finish is first class! I know that you'll be as pleased with you 4"er as I am with mine. Again, I'm very happy that you have one of these models. Now we both are walking around with stupid grins on out faces and can't wait to tell folks why!
