After breaking the close to perfect 126 year old grips on my Safety Hammerless .32 S&W i decided to go an unorthodox route and order some orange replacement grips.

I did have to use an awl to make the sockets deeper to have them fitted, but that wasn't much of a problem. There is also as you can see a slight alignment issue. It should also be noted that these grips are a little thicker compared to the originals

Pictures came out more red than orange for some reason.

It looks more dramatic than what it is though and it is only on one side, I'm considering complaining about it.

That company does carry pink as well! You take your chances with all reproduction stocks. They are thermal-plastics and quite prone to warping. None will fit correctly and the buyer needs to be aware that filing, drilling, sanding & polishing will be required, but they usually give satisfactory resilts.

Some years ago I bought a pair for a .32 1900 Browning from them. I had to send them back, as they fit so poorly.

Well, one of the grips fitted perfectly so they are certainly capable of doing it properly. I've sent them an email so I'll guess we'll see.

To bad they don't make them with "Zombie Green".

Yes, i had to remove some material from the sockets, but that was only to make them deeper.

Ughh....sorry, but that looks awful in my opinion. I'd look for original replacements. Maybe even some real MOP grips.

MOP will cost my shirt and then some. Probably hard to come by as well.

The color is more matte than what the pictures show.

I agree with Twaits! Those are God awful ugly grips! If you are trying to duplicate the original S&W mottled red/black grips, contact Don Furr, as Mike suggests above. Vintage grips sells "one size fits all" merchandise that if you are real lucky and can spend a lot of time and talent on fitting their merchandise, you might get something that will work until you find a set of originals. Ed.

Is "gungrip.com" any better or about the same??

I need a .455 Webley MkVI right grip panel and haven't had much luck finding one and may have to resort to a replica.

I don't mind the red color, and even though the fit is not perfect, it's not terrible either. I think the red grips are sort of a fun thing to have. Don't cops sometimes use red grips on training guns to show that they are deactivated?

I am sorry, but those grips are simply hideous!!! You can do a lot better...

Might be. Orange is a "safety color". First comment in support of support of the color choice.

I have another hammerless I'm considering giving yellow or green grips or maybe even MOP.

I like neon colors and think it's cool on vintage revolvers, but there isn't much of that available unfortunately.

Can i do worse?

I bought a set of real MOP grips for a .38 Lemonsqueezer here from one of the members for $90 I believe. He had another set for .32 for about $80. Yes probably a little more than your shirt but not too bad I think.
I see them show up here and there. This forum is a good resource by putting a post in the WTB section.

Just had a thought(not often),will any of the vintage
stocks with the arched top fit a round
butt J frame??Just wondering....

No, the .32/.38 DA and Safety Hammerless grip frames are the same dimensions as the more recent I frame, so just a bit too short for a J.

I use a pair of I-frame wood combat grips on a .38 DA. Fits OK (but not perfect), and provides vastly better grasp for shooting than the factory black rubber grips. Looks somewhat strange however.
