Wife just returned from local ACADEMY store. She bought 4 boxes (max) of 9mm 115gr MONARCK steel case 50 rounds each for $16.00 each. They now have large supply of 5.56 62 gr GREEN tip Winchester and do not run out for days. She did not have to be in line at 07:30 as usual. She got there 08:45. No .45 acp,.38spl or .44 today.

I guess it's a good day for ammo. I stopped at a shop that had gotten some ammo in trade. I wound up with 2 Monarch boxes of .40S&W, brass case, 180gr. for $12.50 a box. 100 rounds of .40 for $25.

Most prices are people taking advantage of the customer for everything they can squeeze out of them. I can see some price increase as reasonable but don't believe costs have doubled. Joe Average is getting reamed!

A Rural King store in my old home town had 9mm Ingman 124 gr. ammo on the shelf for $20.99/box 50. Cheapest price I've seen in 16 months. I'm still not buying until it drops a little more in price. I've been able to get bulk 22 LR at 2 WMs for $.05/round and CCI Mini Mags for just under $.08.

Monarch is Academy's ''house'' brand. That 9mm is nothing more than Tula, Wolf, or some other former communist bloc manufactured ammo repackaged to look good. It will leave some nasty residue behind when fired.

Please don't misunderstand me - happy you scored ammunition and it is on the shelf, but $16/box for that stuff isn't really encouraging.

Nobody is holding a gun to "Joe Average's" head to buy....

So Joe Average is not getting reamed.

You all LOVE capitalism until it costs YOU, huh?

And THAT's why we call him: Joe AVERAGE...........

DON'T BUY

Friend got 100 rounds of 12 gauge target loads for $22 at WM. Limited supply but that's about the same price as pre-everything.
