Got Improved I-frame .32 in a trade

Thanks for the kind remark and how can I refuse with a comment like that.

My favorite two 32 shooters:

A .32 Model 30-1 converted to a target model, with sights, target hammer and trigger and modified J frame target stocks:

My 1959 vintage 22 Mag 'only' Single Six Old Model that I converted to centerfire and then to 32 H&R Mag using a New Model Ruger barrel and cylinder. Recently I reamed the factory 32 H&R factory cylinder to 327 Fed Mag. Oh what fun!

Had to enlarge the loading gate chute slightly for the larger cases.

In this shot, you can see where I plugged and re-drilled to lower the firing pin and recoil plate for center fire.

My favorite 32 Long load in both guns is 3.5 grains of unique with a hard cast SWC 95 gr bullet. Very accurate and 674 FPS. A snappier load with hollow point bullet is 4.0 grs Uniq with 105 HP bullet and just as accurate at just under 900 FPS.
Also shoot 2.1 grs RED DOT & 90 gr Hornady bullet at about 703 FPS.

Found a new/old-stock FIE grip adapter that makes the little thing sit better in my hand.

I had been looking for a .32 HE and recently traded for this little I frame shooter from the 1920's. It shoots pretty well for a 90 YO.

I had some round to square butt Regulation Police grips that came off my Grandfather's .32. So, I tried them on it. They look ok but the edges are too sharp for me. They cut into my palm. Guess I'll have to find some other set of grips for it.

Here it is with my Grandfather's Reg. Police shipped August 1924.

I have found the J Frame Tyler T Grips work just fine with the I Frame, and do make a difference.

Yeah, the Tyler T would help. But, I need something to put my pinkie finger on. Possibly some replica Bekeart target grips...

You can fit J Frame targets to it, with the enclosed backstrap, or quite a number of aftermarket J Frame grips.

Agree with H. Richard. The grips on my post war 32 HE left my pinkie hanging out in the air. My S&W dealer recommended getting a set of J frame grips. They fit my HE perfectly and even go on with a slight snapping sound.

I put a set of the "bonded ivory" J-frame combats on mine. I may eventually put some shims in to snug them to the frame all around but they fit solid with a couple of pins included with the grips.
