at the local gun show. Sometimes we drive to the gun show in a nearby city. It's big but expensive to park and get in. I rarely see much I'm interested in. I went to my local show which was sparsely attended. I usually cruise it first then revisit anything I'm interested in. While cruising I saw a big Smith in a case, an N frame snub? I moved on but then came back after thinking about it a while. I asked to look at it and found it was a 24-3 3". Asking price $750.
I inspected it, looked the guy in the eye and said I'll take it and offered my hand. We shook and went to the dealer table. I pulled out some franklins and we proceeded to do the paperwork. While I was filling out forms he brought over a few boxes of ammo, the original box, and a grip. I picked it up today( 10 day wait). Turns out to be a pretty special gun. It's a Lew Horton
Sold in 1985. I spoke with Earl Minot and he sent me some info.
I rarely score cool stuff at the gun show but this was a find.

Me 3 . Very interested in what those grips are made of. Nice score by the way. She’s a beauty!

Grips?

Yes. I was wondering about the grips also. The seller said it came with the rubber grip, the book says it came with combats. Also the article Earl sent me said it was a special frame with a K frame grip. I like the ones on it , they have a price tag on the inside that says $250. Could be horn?

There have been previous threads discussing what grips actually fit on the 24-3/624. Mine wears N frame combats with a perfect fit. I never understood what exactly they meant by K frame grip describing the gun.

I agree. Both my 24-3 and my 624 wear N frame combats. Aftermarket N frame VZ grips fit them, too. It is possible to find the combats, but they usually won't be cheap.
