Got me a 29-2 6 1/2 FINALLY

been looking for a long time for the 6 1/2 and dang nabbit i scored one for my birthday..... been waiting a helluva long time... now my 44 collection is complete... heres a quick pic ... original targets as well as a presentation case that needs to be reflocked... original cleaning kit and blue box etc... heres a quick of the gun... serial is N6010XX... has the target hammer and .500 trigger.... nice combo.. Dirty Harry Playtime maybe tonight....

Oh yea best part is.. somewhere in my big chest of holsters is an original Lawman leather co shoulder holster for a 6 1/2 N frame.. i think ill watch some Harry movies tonight....
 
That's a birthday present you won't forget! Looks brand new and that case color on hammer and trigger jumps out. Happy birthday!

Congratulations! I remember my first Model 29-2......it was in 1971 I think. Still got it and it has accumulated a number of friends. Enjoy!

Here's a picture of my original "Dirty Harry" shoulder holster as sold by Lawman Leather Goods and below is a copy of the flyer they sent me (circa 1975). I thought $59.95 was a lot of money for a holster back then.

First, congratulations, Drumrod, on a fine revolver !!
I have a question for you guys, I have a 29-2, ser# N6041XX, but mine has a 6" barrel (actually 5 7/8"). I believe mine was DOB of 79-80. My question is did they make 29-2's with both length barrels, or has my barrel been changed along the way ?

Smith changed the barrel length to 6 inches in 1979-about the same time the 629 came out.
