My buddy Doug found this beautiful double buscadero rig and was nice enough to offer it to me. He knows I’m a sucker for these rigs. The belt is a Heiser pre war #49 with 2 #718 holsters which are both carved. They are both impressed on the back with NS 6” which would be Colt New Service revolvers . The cartridge loops are fitted for 10 .45 cal. Loops and 30 .38 cal. Loops with the first 5 loops for .45’s followed by 30 .38’s and 5 more .45’s. With 40 rounds on his belt and 12 rounds in his revolvers this guy was ready to do battle!. The right holster with the black and gold enamel button fits a 6” New Service. The left holster with the brown unmarked enamel button is not impressed with the right gun for that holster. A 6” New Army or Official Police .38 Special fit perfectly in it, thus the 38 and 45 cal loops make sense. Doug also had a carved Heiser #48 double buscadero belt only for the same guy with the same cartridge loop set up only these are factory stamped over the loops “45” and”38”. Heiser would custom make these belts and holsters to your order. A bit long winded but I’m really lovin it. Thanks again Doug ! Bill

Hi Bill,
He let me see those at the show. That’s a beautiful rig and quite an odd configuration. Your photos do it justice!

Doug is a really nice guy and he sure does come up with some neat stuff. He’s got a nose for holsters like a champion bird dog!

That rig is quite heavy. It would probably weigh 9 or 10 lbs. The amazing thing about this rig is the 30” waist it has. The guy ( or girl?) is probably a wiry little guy about 5’6” and 130 lbs. soaking wet. Bill
