Got my 2nd 442 from Bud's: First attempt at using a photo tent

First, That is some of he best photography I have ever seen. Second, if you don't stop that I am going to give in to the low priced, no lock beauty and my resistance is low as it is. Great gun and great photography.

My hands may too sensitive but I tried checkered wood on my 442 and switched to smooth wood. Practice sessions with +P were just a bit too uncomfortable (and I don't like rubber grips at all) though I could have 'smoothed' the checkering a bit.

Different strokes, & all that. I detest smooth grips for shooting, feels like the gun, especially a small one, is gonna' fly out of my hand. Smooth grips do look good in pictures, though. I have a set of Altamonts with the pressed checkering that gives you someting to hold onto, but isn't sharp, pretty good compromise. JMO.

I have the same "no-lock" gun bought from Bud's last summer. It sure is a great ccw weapon with some pretty decent performing +P Gold Dot loads.

I'm contemplating different grips for mine, now. The factory grips do well when shooting, but feel "hot" in my pocket. I'm looking around for other alternatives now. I'm thinking about the VZ models.

Here is a picture of my set-up:

I am using two 13W CF and two 19W CF bulbs in the 5000-6500K temperature range. My camera is a Nikon D40. I wished I could say otherwise, but the camera is set on auto, and I pulled the image into Paint Shop Pro for some auto adjustment and added the text and border.

I love this gun! I actually bought it as a duplicate safe queen back-up for my concealled carry. I figured with ~$500 worth of holsers and accesories I might as well have a spare.

I prefer the "standard" gun board pic; cell phone camera, with flash, in a dark room on an ugly old bedspread;-)
