After a 77 day wait in Jefferson County Colorado I received my Concealed Handgun Permit this morning. It was a long wait, but now that it's over I feel good to have it.

Congratulations and be safe. It took me a while to get used to having a gun on me. At first you think everyone is looking at you. I finally realized that the average person is so unobservant that you'd have to be printing pretty bad for most to notice. It will also make you more aware of your surroundings, which is a good thing.

congrats on the permit.. Now you know the awsome responsiblity of carrying a firearm....hope you never have to use it...consider a pre paid legal plan in case you do.....what you may think is justified is not or may not be what the cops, prosecutor and a grand jury may think is so justified....

Hey GTbob,
Congratulations and always remember that it is a privilege not a right to have a concealed carry pistol permit. You have obviously proven yourself a worthy candidate... always remember and respect that thought Sir! (I'll get down off my soap box now), ya did good ';-}

Congrats Bob. It's nice to know that there's another armed, law abiding citizen out there. Ya' never know when you might need one around ;).

If you haven't already checked out a (youtube phenom) guy named "nutnfancy", I highly recommend you do. Do a search on his site for "The Concealed Carry Protocol", "Sheepdog Concept" and "Obligation to Carry" to start out with. It will adjust your thinking about concealed carry.

It may be a privilege to have a concealed carry pistol permit but it sure as **** is a right to have a concealed carry pistol and concealed carry it (no matter what some people may think).

No offense intended N98858.

Most excellent!

My only recomendation is to periodicaly check your safety practice. I know far too many pistolero's (even instructors) who have become complacent after six or so months of carrying-and "bang" a round thru a closet, or car seat. Or they drop the thing in public; fire it after cleaning and putting the magazine back in....and so on. You can not-can not be too safe.

Actually it is a pain in the *** to have to bow down to the politicians that think they know better than our founding fathers that we should have a permit to carry.

It is right to carry in anyway one so chooses, open or concealed, and there isn't anything in the 2nd amendment that states we shall be licensed or permitted to do so. Until everyone understands that they will continue to walk all over our rights and attempt to take them away.

And BTW..... It doesn't say anything about an exclusion for those deemed unworthy.... As a matter of fact by todays standards everyone that signed the Declaration of Independence would be considered a felon guilty of treason and excluded by todays standards from even posessing a firearm. Let everyone think about that for a moment!!!!

OK.... Steps off his soapbox!

I carry a Sigma 40VE....No actual safety, just a double action pistol. And there is no such thing as being too complacent!

Congratulations GTbob. May you never need to use your weapon in defense of yourself or others.

Bob

I read this length of days & it reminds me of how "good" we have it here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are a shall issue state, 45 days max. & if longer, there is now a provision for . . .
Would like to see Campus Carry passed.

Congrats!
