I picked up my model 64 from the FFL this evening, and man what a buy! Mine is a 64-3 with an unbobbed hammer. The finish on the gun is flawless except for one ding right under the cylinder on the left side. The bore looks as though its never been shot, and there is not even any burn marks on the cylinder where it mates against the forcing cone.
Most importantly though, the action is like glass! Double action is smooth and even all the way through the pull, and the weight of the single action has to be less than a pound. I was originally planning to put a Wolff spring kit in it, but the action is perfect as-is.
I'm going to buff out the ding, polish the entire gun, and put on some Ahrends retro smooth grips. I suppose I'll have to squeeze all this tinkering in between trips to the range.
Pictures to come.
