I sold off my 4” 66-2 to my buddies FIL 30-40 years ago. Regretted doing so immediately. It changed hand though their family a few times.
Today my buddy returned it to me. Said Merry Christmas.
I got the box a papers back to.
All I need to do is see if I can locate the original target stocks.
I think they’re in my box of extras.

Nice! I'm glad it worked out. After my Dad passed I was able to buy back a 2.5" 66 that he had once sold to a friend of mine. It went to my brother who had his 4" from Dad stolen. Best feeling ever to see his face in having a gun of Dad's again. I will always have the 6" that he gave me.

I had a 66 six inch that I carried on duty when we provided our own revolvers. It looked impressive on walking beat (or so I thought). Sold it 1982 (along with some others I miss) when my new wife got sick and had to pay the mortgage…..

The only gun I regret selling was my very first EDC/CCW. It was a 2" blued, RB M10 made in 1980 and got it brand new right off the S&W assembly line (I went there in person which you could do back then) as a replacement for my original which was defective and not repairable. At the time I wanted to get a M60 which was much smaller and lighter for CCW and so I sold my M10. Yes, I could always buy another one but at 72 in a few weeks I need to flip my "mode switch" from buying to selling - lol.
