Smith & Wesson Mod. 651 .22 Magnum Kit Gun - 4" barrel, stainless steel construction with checkered walnut square-butt magna grips. This scarce target-sight revolver is in "as new" condition and comes in the original one-piece blue box with the factory papers. It is fitted with the highly sought-after "Extra .22 LR cylinder" and the box end-label carries the Product Code for this option, and is marked "Special". A rare and desirable variation of the S&W Kit Gun models, one that doesn't come along often !!

I'm no collector and have no idea of the historical value of this gun but I think it's outrageous. Lots of nice guns that I consider vastly more attractive and useful for a fraction of the cost. Don

I have a mint 651 but no box or extra cylinder I would let go for $2500.00. Dont fight over it boys!!! LOL

651

Did you notice the buyers feedback- 0 . Good luck on gettin' paid.

It is not the gun that brought such a high price but that fine card board box! With out that fine card board box it would just be another nice old gun. LOL

I can never get any of my card board boxes to shoot at all.

I will track feedback to see if it completes but the next bidder with 187 feedback bid 3250. Maybe they know something we don't

There was thoughts this would not go through but both buyer and seller gave positive feedback. Unreal but true.

I have no idea on the value of this gun (it may very well be worth what was paid), but I do have certain self imposed rules when bidding on GB. The first is never bid against someone with less than five feedback ratings (a generalization, I know). It seems that when these folks start bidding, they want it no matter the cost. I just back out and watch!

Someone with more money than brains!

Actually, that would be more dollars than sense! :D

I know, the buyer probably already had two of them but skipped a number to be a consecutive pair and this one fit right in between for a trifecta! What?! It could happen!

Okay, so you come up with a better idea why some nutball would pay about 3 times the going rate for one of these .....

0 feedback buyers on GB are some of the best. They usually pay quickly and message you right after the auction ends. They are new to the game and are trying to build up their street cred(feedback)

To run the price up at an auction takes at least two people. One can only wonder the intent of the second place bidder. That being the case, the winner can always claim that they were willing to place only one more bid higher than the next guy to get the deal. Win/win either way - NOT
